Temporary Abode: Tune Hotels ( now Red Planet) Cebu, Philippines

15:45 11/09/2014 We’d live in Cebu for more than three years and considered it as our second home. So we’re bit familiar on the happening spots, places of interest and best area to stay. But that was half a decade ago. Probably things have changed now. The incessant development in metro Cebu causes the surge in the hospitality industry to boom. Thus translated to a plethora of accommodation from backpackers hostel, budget inns to ritzy hotels. We’re so glad that our favorite budget hotel chain operates in Cebu. Hello (now Red Planet) Tune Hotels Cebu!

This would be our third Tune Hotel stay. We experienced our first in Hatyai, Thailand way back in 2012. Then in Solo Indonesia of April last year. We’d great experience on our two days stay and hope for a repeat in Cebu.

Location

Tune Hotel (Red Planet) Cebu
Archbishop Reyes Ave
Cebu City 6000 Philippines

This hotel is situated within the vicinity of Cebu Business Park. Aside from Tune brand, the location was the main reason of choosing this place as our temporary abode. It’s just stone’s throw away to our favorite hangout place Ayala Terraces and short taxi ride to Fuente Osmena, Mango Avenue and IT Park in Lahug.

The ground floor of the same building has 7-11 convenience store which is a big plus. A nearby convenience store really ease our worry in case we fall to our midnight cravings.

Check In

Our plane touch down with the expected arrival time at 2:45 PM and manage to leave the airport by 3:15 PM. Thankfully the traffic from MCIA passing through Mandaue City wasn’t that bad and we able to check in by 3:45 PM.

Check In    Time :  2:00 PM (Philippine Time, +8 GMT)
Check Out Time : 12:00 PM (Philippine Time, +8 GMT)

After presenting our Agoda voucher, the staff hand over our room card and Wifi Password slip. Though they’re meek but staff were quite efficient, liked it.

Our Double Room

As always, we opted for double occupancy bed. The bed are neatly arrange when we entered our room so please disregard the mess as shown on the photo above. By staying for the third time, we can say Tune Hotel follow strictly to their standard when it comes to comfort and sanitation.

Our room is bit smaller compared to Solo and Hatyai. The space is fully maximized yet still breathable

Hotel Room Amenities

As norm, two transparent side table on each side of the bed. One table supports the personal safety deposit box while the other is free to put our stuff.

Consistent to other Tune hotels, there is no closet but instead, a wardrobe rod fixed on the corner with hangers ready to use.

A flat screen TV fasten on the wall opposite to the bed for a great viewing pleasure. Typical it has local and selected cable channels.

We look dumbfounded after viewing a picture of the famous landmark in Malaysia on the wall. It feels just like home. We’d been to this grandiose Mosque on several occasions and we’re quite sure it’s not in KK as the label claims. It’s the famous Putra Mosque or known as the Pink Mosque located in Putrajaya, Federal Territory of Malaysia.

Enough for that photo blunder. We’re glad to get a dose of good slumber on this hotel. This hotel is great for value, location and service. Recommending this!

  1. Yes, it varies per branches. But overall, we had good experience to Tune hotels we stayed.

  2. Seems like you had a great time in Tune. I only stayed there once (in Makati) and I vowed never to stay there again. Maybe quality differs with each branch? I've also been to Putrajaya and I agree, it's the mosque that we've visited. Caption fail haha
