Sapporo on a Budget with Itinerary and Expenses

Our wish of experiencing snow short lived when a rare snowfall showered in Tokyo last November 24, 2016. Mounds of snow can’t be found in the streets as it was only good for several hours. It deprived us big time to do some snowball fights and build a snowman. How sad it was for the first timers right?  Since we’re already here in Japan, we make most of our time. We had’ been long dreaming of visiting Hokkaido, the northern part region of Japan. We visualized Sapporo City with snow-capped mountains in the background with unending snowfalls during Winter. So a trip to  #OhayoSapporo was resurrected. It was actually a plan long way back of 2015 together with Riz (lamyerda.com). It all seem just to be a plan until an urge to book a flight last minute happened in December. Since this is a spontaneous trip, we borrow the helm of the Lord Cheapskate to be guided on this travel as economical as possible without hurting our shallow pocket. Thus this Sapporo on Budget with Itinerary and Expenses was born. Indulge to use this guide.

Budget Tips

Air Tickets are booked ten days prior to flight, so it’s bit expensive. It could be cheaper if book way ahead. There are many cheap options for accommodation but Nest Hotel is walking distance to Sapporo Station and Odori Park so we grab it.  Sapporo, Odori Park and Susukino can be accessed via Underground so can save here by skipping train rides.
