16:00 31/03/2013 It has been a year now, the moment we chase sunrise, hit the ERL (fast train in M’sia) and blowned away by the multi shape-colored Hot Air Balloon at Putrajaya, Malaysia (story here). The great experience we had the previous year brought us again in this annual event. We would have missed this event if our visa wasn’t released on time. That will be another story. We’re so glad that we’re able to come back to KL and experience it again and this time with friends and their kids.
It was just on time the event started after the rain ease off. We harbored the perfect spot that we claimed earlier. The screen behind our ground shown what had happened last night. Telling us that we had missed that spectacular night event with fireworks.
The go signal was on and the teams scattered across the launching area and prepping their HAB for take off.
It’s really cool witnessing how Hot Air Balloon was launch from the ground. We haven’t notice as detailed as this from our previous experience since most of HAB that time we’re already inflated.
The surrounding get’s warmer and hotter as flames from the burners of each HAB was tested before launching.
We also notice that each team has time interval for launching the HAB. This maybe due to limited launching space and also later followers can still witness the remaining HAB.
A banner “In memory of Captain Khairudin” got our attention and we just knew he’s the one pioneering the Balloon fiesta in Malaysia. Hat’s off to you Capt. Khairudin.
You might be wondering what he’s carrying? A basket for the hand mini hot air balloon. I guess this use for advertisement purposes, if not mistaken.
These small hand carried Mini- Hot Air Balloon has it’s own class. Though they’re not meant for flying but it serve it’s purpose “to entertain everyone”.
There are 18 participating Balloons in this year’s event which I guess get lessen from last year, if our memory serves us right. We spotted same ones and new additions like smurf HAB which got our kiddos attention.
nice shots! the mini balloon was cute 🙂
DREAM KONG SUMAKAY NG HOT AIR BALLOON. 🙂 indeed, a mesmerizing sight. 🙂 my first expereince is in CLARK, PAMPANMGA. 🙂
So nice to see the balloons. 🙂 love to be in one one day!
We also failed taking a tethered ride of Hot Air Balloon, another reason to come back next year. 🙂
Hot Air Balloons are spectacular to see.
I was able to visit Putra Jaya a few years ago and I love the architecture in that area. The hot air balloons here looks really cool.
to be honest, philippines' hot air balloon fest in subic is greater than in Putra Jaya.
Grabe pala yung fire emitted to the hot air balloon. It was my first time to see one and right now I think it's scary!
I guess it's nice to be flying a hot air balloon but I guess, I prefer watching after seeing that huge fire! 😀
I agree Sef, our HAB fest is already more established and been more than a decade already. But here they're just started.
Certainly, the architectural wonders of Putrajaya is one of mere reason why people flock to this federal territory of Malaysia.
It's indeed scary, and kiddos we accompanied were shock in amazement.
Flying a Hot Air Balloon is a one of a kind experience, and that we'll gonna do in next years event.
I saw a smurf! 🙂 I've always been fascinated with hot air balloon since I was a kid… this is bucket list! promised! 🙂
Never been to that place, but one thing is sure. it was an experience to remember for you. I've only watch hot air balloon festival sa Clark.
Before I love to go to high places, now when I get old I couldn't bear to reach for any top or higher places. I do love to experience riding on a hot balloon. I am afraid I couldn't resist it.
I have never been to a hot air balloon event but I wish to see one as it looks very exciting.

The smurfs hot air balloon looks so cute! I've never went to a balloon festival, not even in Clark's annual festival in the country. Hehe
It's good to know that Toyota took part in this event. I am a Toyota fan! Hihihi. Awesome shots btw =) ♥
It looks like they hold the event in a city center and a smaller venue compared to our Clark Hot Air Balloon Festival but nonetheless you must' have enjoyed watching the balloons take off. Is there a Breitling air show?
It must have been fun and exciting to be part of this hot air balloon festival. I haven't even been to the hot air balloon festival here in the PH haha
